FLINT, Michigan — Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton is asking the Michigan Republican Party and Bill Schuette campaign to disassociate themselves with Debbie McIntosh, who they said made "racist and anti-semitic" comments.

Leyton's spokesman Todd Cook made the demands, citing this comment made on The Flint Journal's website, mlive.com:

"(H)ow dare the FLINT URINAL not show me the respect to get my side of the story, instead of ONE SIDE,,,oh A JEWISH OWNED PAPER,,,,and lEYTON IS THE PRESIDENT OF THE JEWISH FEDERATION,,,,FLINT JOURNAL you should be ashamed of youself," wrote a commenter namedADAMSMOM, who identified herself as McIntosh.

She made a similar comment on The Journal's Facebook page.

McIntosh of Grand Blanc is the mother of Adam McIntosh who was shot to death in 2006. The McIntosh family has been critical of Leyton's prosecution of the case.

McIntosh is being featured on TV ads and wrote a letter criticizing Leyton mailed to voters statewide by the Michigan Republican Party.

The campaign in a press release said the state Republican Party and the Schuette campaign should remove all TV ads, stop using her as a campaign spokeswoman and repudiate McIntosh's statements.
