Brian Banks wants Michigan AG disqualified from case

Brian BanksThe charges were filed by Assistant Attorney General Michael Frezza, the live-in boyfriend of another Assistant Attorney General, Alison Furtaw, who was a $2.900 contributor to the Red and Blue political action committee that contributed to Banks’ Democratic opponent, Pamela Sossi, as well as other 2016 candidates. The actual state attorney listed on court documents in the case now is Richard Cunnigham.
“The charges were clearly politically motivated. The Attorney General sat on the information until the last day before the statute of limitations ran out," said Banks' attorney Ben Gonek. "The bank never filed a criminal complaint in this matter. The charges are not only ridiculous, it's pretty shameful to use taxpayer dollars prosecuting crimes like this when ther are plenty of other crimes that warrant proseucutos' attention."
