LePage to name health and human services head today

AUGUSTA, Maine — Gov. Paul LePage plans to announce his nominee to head one of the largest and most complex departments in state government — Health and Human Services.
The Republican governor on Wednesday will also name his Agriculture Department nominee, as he gets closer to filling out his list of 15 department commissioner choices.
The Department of Health and Human Services, previously led by Brenda Harvey, administersMaineCare, the nutrition program formerly known as food stamps, and numerous other welfare and social services programs in which hundreds of thousands of Mainers are enrolled.
LePage on Wednesday will also announce an executive director of the Workers’ Compensation Board.
