With Trump's rise, big donors and companies hesitate to commit money to the GOP convention

Some of the party’s big-dollar donors from four years ago, unhappy about the prospect of contributing to a chaotic or brokered convention, are holding onto their money. Blue chip corporations that helped underwrite the 2012 convention, including Microsoft and AT&T, are now facing a pressure campaign to stay away.

Jake Edward Ryan, the 27-year-old Montana man who has been sought by federal authorities for more than two weeks on an indictment stemming from the takeover of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge, was found hiding in a stranger's shed in Clark County Tuesday afternoon.

Gabriel said it appeared from Facebook postings that Ryan's family had tried to harbor him, and had hired an attorney for him.

Wasserman Schultz primary challenger posts strong fundraising total

The Florida professor challenging Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz for her congressional seat posted a strong first fundraising quarter, raising $550,000.

Tim Canova's haul came from 15,295 donations averaging less than $20, according to figures released Monday morning by the campaign.

Utah ranchers vow to continue Bundy war against feds despite arrests of Oregon militants

On  23 January, a group of Utah ranchers gathered in Cedar City and made a pledge: they signed notices of “withdrawal of consent” to be governed – a statement rejecting the authority of the federal agencies that regulate grazing and charge fees to have livestock use public lands.

The ranchers were following in the footsteps of Arizona rancher LaVoy Finicum, who at the time was a leader of a land-use protest at an Oregon wildlife refuge and who had publicly refused to pay for grazing rights.

Occupy CNN: Protest Breaks out Against the Lack of Sanders Coverage

On Sunday, over 1,000 protesters voiced their anger over CNN's lack of Bernie Sanders coverage at the network's Los Angeles headquarters.

The protest against the "Bernie blackout" comes a week after Sanders took Hawaii, Washington and Alaska by large margins in the primaries on Western Saturday—which CNN significantly downplayed.

NYPD commissioner slams Cruz

New York City Police Department (NYPD) Commissioner Bill Bratton again took aim at GOP presidential hopeful Ted Cruz for comments he made about monitoring Muslim neighborhoods following the terrorist attacks in Brussels.

“Sen. Cruz was very anti-American, anti-Muslims in some of his comments in light of the Belgium bombings,” Bratton said in an interview with radio host John Catsimatidis. “The idea that we should be increasing our patrols of our Muslim neighborhoods and overseeing a surveillance of them; I’m sorry, we live in the United States of America.
