His Bold Idea: Move HQ to Detroit to Show 'What the Democratic Party Stands For'
A shake-things-up suggestion surfaces as the Democratic National Committee meets this weekend in Phoenix to hear pitches by candidates for party leader.

Phil Angelides: Detroit "rents are one-third to one-half of what’s charged in D.C."
"I can think of no better way for the DNC’s new chair to signal a fresh start than by setting up the party’s headquarters in Detroit, Michigan—not Washington, D.C.," writes Phil Angelides, a former California party chair and state treasurer.
"A little more heartland and a little less Beltway would be good for the soul and perspective of the Democratic Party," he adds Friday in a Politico Magazine commentary, .

Despite facing ethics questions, these Texas lawmakers easily won re-election

One faces criminal convictions for ambulance-chasing and the possibility of a year in jail. Another announced her resignation from her seat after being investigated by state auditors and the Texas Rangers. A third failed to fully disclose his business interests in a company that’s been the subject of an FBI investigation.
Yet all three state lawmakers won their re-election bids — handily — earlier this month. Voters overwhelmingly chose to send state Reps. Ron Reynolds of Missouri City and Dawnna Dukes of Austin and state Sen. Carlos Uresti of San Antonio, all Democrats, back to the Capitol, a sign of voters’ capacity for exoneration or apathy — or both.

Ex-Black Caucus chair backs Pelosi challenger
Rep. Tim Ryan (D-Ohio) secured a significant endorsement on Wednesday in his bid to challenge House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) in a former chairwoman of the Congressional Black Caucus.
In a statement, Democratic Rep. Marcia Fudge said her fellow Ohioan offered what she believes is a necessary change after another disappointing election cycle for House Democrats.
Pelosi had predicted double-digit gains to cut into the House GOP majority in 2016, but Democrats have only netted six seats.

Dems pledge to fight Sessions nomination
Senate Democrats are pledging to fight Sen. Jeff Sessions's nomination to be attorney general, arguing the pick feeds into larger concerns they have about the Trump administration.
Democrats are raising questions about whether the Alabama Republican would be able to provide equal protection to all Americans, three decades after Sessions was blocked from a federal judgeship because of racism accusations that surfaced during his confirmation hearing.

The DNC Campaigned For Donald Trump
Before you dismiss me, as many have previously done when I promoted the concept that there was DNC money connected to Trump, take a moment to look at other social media reports explaining how the Democratic Party executed its "Pied Piper Strategy".
You All Know That The Clinton Campaign Deliberately Plotted To Get Trump Nominated, Right?

Clinton's Pied Piper Strategy (use media contacts to promote Trump) has backfired spectacularly. PDF of our leak: https://t.co/DAmWNq9K0f pic.twitter.com/R49V3TfMXC— WikiLeaks (@wikileaks) November 9, 2016
"This memo is intended to outline the strategy and goals a potential Hillary Clinton presidential campaign would have regarding the 2016 Republican presidential field. Clearly most of what is contained in this memo is work the DNC is already doing. This exercise in intended to put those ideas to paper. "
Well, well, well, it looks as if we my have a bit of backroon collusion not just within the Democratic Party, but, also with some folks over there in the Trump camp and main stream media.
I wonder if there is a financial connection through the Clinton Foundation, CGI, via the DNC and Trump.
The plot thickens for the Congress.

Clinton aides blame FBI director, media for devastating loss
Top aides to Hillary Clinton are blaming FBI Director James Comey and the media for the Democrat’s devastating loss in the presidential election.
Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta, communications director Jennifer Palmieri and other Clinton aides sought to provide explanations during a private conference call Thursday with supporters of the Democratic nominee for a loss that to many came out of nowhere.
They were pressed on the call for answers and insight from supporters stung by the surprise loss.

Republicans Threaten Lawsuits Over TV Ads Linking Them To Donald Trump
WASHINGTON ― Some Republicans are running so far away from their party’s nominee that they are threatening to sue TV stations for running ads that suggest they support Donald Trump.
Just two weeks before Election Day, five Republicans ― Reps. Bob Dold (R-Ill.), Mike Coffman (R-Colo.), David Jolly (R-Fla.), John Katko (R-N.Y.) and Brian Fitzpatrick, a Pennsylvania Republican running for an open seat that’s currently occupied by his brother ― contend that certain commercials paid for by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee provide false or misleading information by connecting them to the GOP nominee.
Trump is so terrible, these Republicans are essentially arguing, that tying them to him amounts to defamation.
All five Republicans have, at some point, said they don’t support Trump. And all five have a bit of a case: The DCCC ads do use some creativity to tie them to Trump.

Nina Turner: Dems Need to Heal Because Clinton Campaign Actually Wrote WikiLeaks Emails
The Campaign wrote those emails.
Saturday, MSNBC political analyst and former Ohio State Sen. Nina Turner (D) discussed the WikiLeaks emails that show the Hillary Clinton campaign’s disdain for fellow Democrats, as well as recruiting “needy Latinos.”
Turner said that the Democratic party will need to heal because the emails were actually written by Democrats about fellow Democrats.
“I believe that the Democratic party, when all of this is said and done, will have to deal in a very deep way with the healing process, because the fact of the matter is that the hackers didn’t write the emails,” Turner explained. “We’re dealing with people who talked about needy Latinos. We’re dealing with people who said things about African-Americans and others. Heck, I’m even in the emails, as well. I can tell from you reading the ones that I’ve seen so far with my name in them, the Russians didn’t write those emails. They were by the people within the Clinton camp.”

Senators Blame Obama For Not Helping Them Understand Their Own Bill
Last Friday, President Barack Obama vetoed a bill called the Justice Against Sponsors of Terrorism Act, better known as JASTA. The bill, which enjoyed broad bipartisan support in both houses of Congress, would, among other things, have allowed plaintiffs to sue countries known to have sponsored terrorist acts for compensatory damages. Many of the bill’s supporters had pitched JASTA as a “sue Saudi Arabia” bill, based on their insistent belief that Saudi Arabia was behind the Sept. 11 attacks. The bill’s supporters in Congress frequently cited the 9/11 attacks as their motivation for passing the bill in the first place.
Obama vetoed JASTA, but the story didn’t end there. Earlier this week, Congress handed Obama the first veto override of his presidential tenure. JASTA was law, baby! All that’s left is the high-fiving!
But there always has to be a morning after. And many members of Congress, after they’d come down a bit from their veto override high, evidently started to wonder about what they’d done, exactly. That’s when they found that the bill they supported through a veto override maaaaaybe needed a tweak or two. Per Jordain Carney at The Hill:

DNC Files Scathing Rebuttal, Wants Fraud Lawsuit Filed by Bernie Backers Thrown Out
Attorneys working for the Democratic National Committee are hoping a federal judge will throw out a lawsuit filed by a bunch of Bernie Sanders supporters who believe they got duped by the DNC.
However, in a motion to dismiss the lawsuit filed this week, attorneys with the DNC fired back. They believe that the lawsuit is completely without merit, and that the Bernie supporters are using “litigation as a political weapon against a national party (and to support their SuperPAC) in the middle of an election.” They also don’t believe the Bernie backers have standing to even bring the lawsuit.

Rasmussen: Dems want Sanders running if Clinton drops out
If Hillary Clinton were forced to leave the presidential race due to health reasons, Democrats would want Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) to replace her as the party’s nominee, a new Rasmussen poll finds.
Forty-eight percent of likely Democratic voters backed Sanders in that scenario, according to the poll released Friday.
Twenty-two percent picked Vice President Biden, with 14 percent saying Clinton’s running mate Tim Kaine, and 9 percent choosing someone else.

Supreme Court petition to take Trump off Minnesota ballot
ST. PAUL, Minn. (KMSP) - Thursday night, the Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party filed a petition with the Minnesota Supreme Court to remove Donald Trump and running mate Mike Pence from the Minnesota ballot. The DFL claims Minnesota Secretary of State Steve Simon shouldn’t have accepted the Republican Party's "certificate of nomination" last month because they didn’t follow proper procedure when alternate electors were nominated.
"It is apparent that clear errors occurred in the Republican process of selecting alternative electors for getting Donald Trump on the Minnesota ballot," said DFL Chair Ken Martin, who filed the petition. "It is incumbent upon political parties to follow the rules binding our elections and in this instance it does not appear that the Minnesota Republican Party did so."
According to the petition: “the State Republican Party’s leadership ignored state law. Specifically, on August 24, 2-16, the State Republican Party Executive Committee met to select and approve alternate presidential electors itself. This process, however, did not occur at a State Convention.”

Maine Dems call out Republicans for not taking action against Gov. LePage's threats
Dear Friend,
At a press conference last night, House Republican Leader Ken Fredette said that his caucus had no interest in taking action to hold Governor LePage accountable for his threat against a sitting lawmaker or for his racist and homophobic remarks.
We need your help. Below are phone numbers for every Republican in the Legislature. Please call every single one to tell them that Maine won't stand for inaction and that Governor LePage must resign. Please note these numbers are all listed on the Legislature's website, so we are not sharing contact information that is not already public.
Maine continues to make headlines in the national news. We have a historic opportunity to show the country that our state will loudly reject bigotry and hate. Please help us do that.
In solidarity,
