SUMTER, SC – A rapper turned Sumter mayoral candidate and an associate are charged after police say they staged a kidnapping and beating in order to garner publicity, sympathy and votes in the November election.

Sabrina Belcher, 29, of Cabelas Place, admitted to planning the ruse, which she recorded and posted on Facebook live, with Christopher James Eaddy, 34, of Olive Street.

Belcher, with Eaddy’s help, also attempted to discredit a fellow candidate in the recording. Belcher also had ongoing plans to smear other mayoral candidates prior to the election.

Belcher is charged with filing a false police report of a felony and conspiracy. Eaddy is charged with conspiracy. Both were booked Wednesday at the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center.

U.S. DEMOCRATIC PARTY FILES LAWSUIT AGAINST RUSSIA, TRUMP CAMPAIGN, WIKILEAKS

The Democratic Party sued Russia, President Donald Trump's campaign and WikiLeaks on Friday, charging that they conspired to disrupt the 2016 US presidential election, a court filing showed.

The party alleges in the federal lawsuit in Manhattan that top Trump campaign officials conspired with the Russian government and its military spy agency to hurt Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton and tilt the election to Trump by hacking Democratic Party computers.

The lawsuit also names Donald Trump Jr., Trump associate Roger Stone and Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, as defendants.

The lawsuit alleges that Trump's campaign "gleefully welcomed Russia's help" in the 2016 election.

The White House did not immediately respond to requests for comment. Trump has repeatedly denied his campaign colluded with Russia. Russia has denied meddling in the election.

Half of Detroit’s 8 mayoral candidates are felons

Detroit — Half of the eight mayoral hopefuls on Detroit’s primary ballot next week have been convicted of felony crimes involving drugs, assault or weapons, a Detroit News analysis shows.

Three were charged with gun crimes and two for assault with intent to commit murder. Some of the offenses date back decades, the earliest to 1977. The most recent was in 2008.

Young Russian denies she aided election hackers: ‘I never work with douchebags’

Alisa Shevchenko is a talented young Russian hacker, known for working with companies to find vulnerabilities in their systems. She spends her winters in Asia, meditating and training in Thai kickboxing.

She is also, the White House claims, guilty of helping Vladimir Putin interfere in the US election.

Her company was a surprise inclusion on the US sanctions list released last week, alongside top officers in Russia’s GRU military intelligence agency and two well-known criminal hackers. The company “provided the GRU with technical research and development”, according to the fact sheet released by the White House. No further details were given.

In addition to the sanctions, the US expelled 35 Russian diplomats from the country, and said it would take further, non-public measures in response.

Detroit to get new voting machines as city clerk blames state, human error

Five weeks after a national scandal involving broken Detroit voting machines and ineffective poll workers, state Elections Director Chris Thomas said Wednesday evening that the city will get all new voting machines in time for the 2017 mayoral and City Council elections.

But broken machines were not the biggest problem Detroit endured election night. Citing a memo he just received, Thomas said there were dozens of other problems that occurred Nov. 8.

“I got an e-mail yesterday from Wayne County showing me what the issues were on (Detroit) polling places and precincts, and quite frankly, it was somewhat shocking,” he said.

Detroit withheld nearly 100 poll books from presidential election certification

Detroit election officials withheld nearly 100 poll books for several days while Wayne County was trying to certify the presidential election, according to documents obtained by Motor City Muckrakerand first reported by the Detroit News.

A memo from county clerk officials states that Detroit failed to deliver 92 of the 662 precinct poll books in a timely fashion, raising serious questions about why the information was withheld.

Five of the poll books remained missing last month. It wasn’t clear Thursday whether the books ever surfaced.

Poll books include the names of voters and are necessary for ensuring that election tabulations were not falsified.

It’s just the latest problem to arise from Detroit Clerk’s Office, which bungled the Nov. 8 election. Dozens of voting machines broke, and scores of people left without casting a ballot.

WWE professional wrestler Rhyno wins 15th District Michigan State House Republican primary race

(WXYZ) - They say politics can be a rough sport. If that's the case, the winner of Tuesday's Republican Primary in the 15th District State House race may be uniquely qualified for the battle he'll have in November. Terrance "Rhyno" Gerin is a WWE wrestler.

The WWE Superstar took down two Republican opponents in the primary, winning by only 54 votes as of 11:30 p.m. Though he had the highest vote total, he had yet to be officially named the Republican Primary winner.

As the winner of the Republican Primary, he would now face Abdullah Hammoud, the winner of the 15th District Democratic Primary, in November's General Election.

MDP Women's Caucus Excludes Poor Women and Their Issues, Again

Once again, the Michigan Democratic Party is having an absolutely fabulous #MDP Toll Fest.

"What is a Toll Fest?", you may ask.  Allow me to explain.

A Toll Fest is when an elite group charges a fee, typically not a nominal one, to access entry into the group.  If you do not pay the fee, your voice is excluded.

Toll Fests are closed systems designed to exclude any social media exposure or input.

Think of it as a roaring groupthink party where they celebrate the fact that they came up with a national agenda once again without engaging the majority of the population it is suppose to be representing.

The event is in Detroit, the largest concentration of voters and poverty in the State of Michigan.

The event also does not seem to understand that the highest population of children in poverty rate in the industrialized world is in Detroit, where women are the primary caregivers.

The entry fee to the National Federation of Democratic Women Midwest Regional Conference and Issues Conference is $40, $50 with lunch.

Do not dare to even ask for daycare.  "The nerve!"

No hardship exceptions are offered but it does not matter.  Everyone knows poor people do not vote.

BERNIE SANDERS: Almost 7,000 of my supporters just signed up to run for office

Bernie Sanders has inspired thousands of supporters to express interest in running for political office.
After the Vermont senator made an impassioned plea to his supporters during a Thursday-night webcast to carry the "political revolution" forward, his campaign released a statement claiming that nearly 6,700 of his people said that they'd be interested in seeking elected office.

The supporters went to a portal on Sanders' campaign website, BernieSanders.com/win, and signed up to receive more information about running at the local or state level.

The campaign said that roughly 11,000 expressed interest in either running or volunteering to help other Sanders supporters run.

Racketeering Lawsuit Exposing Nationwide Vote Rigging in DNC Primaries Could Derail Clinton

Corte Madera, CA – A major lawsuit is on the precipice of being filed by the Institute for American Democracy and Election Integrity, the implications of which could dramatically alter the landscape of the 2016 U.S. presidential race.

The group claims that in about eleven states, there has been noted a significant difference between the exit polls and the electronic vote totals presented on the morning after the primaries. These differences show votes appear to be shifted from Bernie Sanders to Hillary Clinton.
