Donald Trump’s media summit was a ‘f−−−ing firing squad’
Donald Trump scolded media big shots during an off-the-record Trump Tower sitdown on Monday, sources told The Post.
“It was like a f−−−ing firing squad,” one source said of the encounter.
“Trump started with [CNN chief] Jeff Zucker and said, ‘I hate your network, everyone at CNN is a liar and you should be ashamed,’ ” the source said.
“The meeting was a total disaster. The TV execs and anchors went in there thinking they would be discussing the access they would get to the Trump administration, but instead they got a Trump-style dressing-down,” the source added.

Unpopular media sees ratings spike
Cable news networks are making billions off the 2016 presidential election, even as the media’s approval ratings take a nosedive with the public.
In a contest pitting two historically disliked general election candidates against each other, the media is even less popular.

Soledad O’Brien Calls Out Media For ‘Normalizing White Supremacy’
Soledad O’Brien isn’t here for the media normalizing white supremacist ideas during this election, and she’s speaking out.
O’Brien, best known for her “Black in America” series, was a guest on CNN’s “Reliable Sources” on Sunday. During a discussion about how the media has covered Trump vs. Hillary, she pointed out that one of her biggest issues with coverage of the race is how Trump’s white supremacist supporters have been given air time, which in effect legitamizes and normalizes their presence and opinions in political discourse.
“I’ve seen, on-air, white supremacists being interviewed because they are Trump delegates,” O’Brien told host Brian Stetler. “And they do a five-minute segment, the first minute or so talking about what they believe as white supremacists. So you have normalized that.”

DNC emails: Wasserman Schultz furiously pressured MSNBC after it criticized her “unfair” treatment of Sanders
Wasserman Schultz called for Brzezinski to “apologize” and told her co-worker Chuck Todd “this must stop.” The DNC chair even complained to MSNBC’s president.
In May, Brzezinski held a segment on the program “Morning Joe” in which she condemned Wasserman Schultz’s “unfair” treatment of Bernie Sanders in the Democratic primary.
“This has been very poorly handled from the start. It has been unfair, and they haven’t taken him seriously, and it starts, quite frankly, with the person that we just heard speaking,” Brzezinski said, referring to Wasserman Schultz.
“She should step down,” Brzezinski added.

Awkward: MSNBC Skips Chris Matthews’s Wife Suffering Huge Loss in Maryland Congressional Race
Among the more intriguing results from Tuesday’s primary contests, the crowded race to fill the heavily-Democratic Eighth Congressional District in Maryland featured none other than the wife of Hardball host Chris Matthews whose candidacy included accusations that the couple leveraged their coziness with the D.C. and Hollywood elite for campaign donations.
Unfortunately, MSNBC made no mention of this race during their live results coverage when polls closed at 8:00 p.m. Eastern until 1:00 a.m. Eastern and along with the MSNBC personality being absent from the coverage due the the campaign but, most importantly, that Kathleen Matthews finished in third.

Hillary Clinton Just Insulted Young Voters in the Worst Way (VIDEO)
“I feel sorry sometimes, for the young people who, you know, believe this — they don’t do their own research,” Clinton said of young voters, who overwhelmingly disapprove of Clinton. “I’m glad that we now can point to reliable, independent analysis that says, no, it’s just not true.”

Mark Halperin suspended over Obama remark on Morning Joe (video)
By TIM MAK | 6/30/11 7:07 AM EDT Updated: 6/30/11 11:04 AM EDT
MSNBC senior political analyst Mark Halperin was suspended on Thursday by the cable network after he called President Obama “a dick” on a popular morning show and then quickly apologized.
“I thought he was a dick yesterday,” Halperin, who also is an editor-at large for Time, said on Morning Joe, referring to the President’s conduct during his press conference.
A couple of hours later, MSNBC issued a statement, saying, “Mark Halperin’s comments this morning were completely inappropriate and unacceptable. We apologize to the President, The White House and all of our viewers. We strive for a high level of discourse and comments like these have no place on our air. Therefore, Mark will be suspended indefinitely from his role as an analyst. The cable outlet also put out a statment from Halperin at the same time, saying, “I completely agree with everything in MSNBC’s statement about my remark. I believe that the step they are taking in response is totally appropriate. Again, I want to offer a heartfelt and profound apology to the President, to my MSNBC colleagues, and to the viewers. My remark was unacceptable, and I deeply regret it.”
During the Morning Joe show, host Joe Scarborough hoped to prevent the comment from being broadcast, saying, “Delay that. Delay that. What are you doing? I can’t believe… don’t do that. Did we delay that?”
Just minutes later, Halperin quickly apologized on the air to the president and viewers for his choice of words. “Joking aside, this is an absolute apology. I shouldn’t have said it. I apologize to the president and the viewers who heard me say that,” Halperin said.
“We’re going to have a meeting after the show,” Scarborough said.
According to Scarborough, there had been a mishap with the seven-second delay button – a new executive producer apparently didn’t know how it worked. “You are supposed to know how to do the job,” Scarborough said of his producer. “I would tell you what I think of him, but he doesn’t know what button to push.”
Later in the show, Halperin again apologized, saying, “I can’t explain why I did it. It’s inappropriate, disrespectful. I’ve already apologized, and I will again to the President. I’m sorry, I’m sorry to the viewers…It is disrespectful, what I said was disrespectful to the president and the office but it also lowers our discourse.”
He also tweeted to his followers, “I want to offer a heartfelt and profound apology to the President and the viewers of Morning Joe. My remark was not funny. I deeply regret it.”
Scarborough and Morning Joe Executive Producer Alex Korson said they were sorry for what happened.
“Certainly (host) Mika (Brzezinski) and I also apologize to viewers,” Scarborough said. “And we hear this all the time - parents come up and say, ‘Hey, by the way, we don’t just watch the show, our kids watch the show.’”
