Ammon Bundy's lawyer quotes from Western film, mocks federal prosecutors in last-minute legal motion

Five days before jury selection is set to begin, Ammon Bundy's lawyer mocked federal prosecutors for their concise rejection of his last-minute efforts to convince the court to throw out the indictment based on his client's continued challenges of federal control of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge and the court's authority.

On Thursday, Assistant U.S. Attorney Ethan Knight wrote, "This Court has jurisdiction ... because this is a case involving federal criminal charges.''

He added, "Moreover, Bundy's adverse possession theory is fatally flawed because it does not apply to the federal government.''

House candidate Rick Tyler wants to ‘Make America White Again’

U.S. House candidate Rick Tyler is facing backlash for a campaign billboard in Tennessee telling voters to “Make America White Again.”Rick Tyler

Mr. Tyler’s billboard, inspired by presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump’s “Make America Great Again” slogan, was the first of many planned for the area in the months leading up to the November election. Other billboard ideas posted on his site included, “Fight federal tyranny, Stop the Muslim invasion,” and “Mamas, don’t let your babies grow up to be miscegenators,” according to WTVC.

Arizona man arrested for posing as a military veteran

PHOENIX — An Arizona man has been arrested for posing as a military veteran, the Arizona Department of Transportation said on Wednesday.

ADOT said 45-year-old Eric Wolfe, a Tempe resident, submitted forged military discharge paperwork in March when applying for a special veteran status on his driver’s license and a license plate reserved for those who have served.

He was arrested 26 days later with several of his followers, the rest dispersed or surrendered within a few days.

Anti-government activist faces harassment charges

In court documents, Bruce identifies himself as Christopher The Living Man.

A blog authored under his name suggests that the United Nations moved tanks onto U.S. soil under the cover of Jade Helm, a military exercise that drew a rash of conspiracy theories.

Bruce labels himself a "sovereign national" — a follower of a loosely organized movement of extremists also known as "sovereign citizens" who believe they are free to disobey U.S. laws, like getting driver's licenses and vehicle registrations. Bruce wrote in one filing that Iowa courts have no jurisdiction over him "unless God's laws are broken."

Republicans Demand To Open Carry Firearms At Cleveland Convention

LaVoy Finicum Supporters Threatened To Burn Qurans, Kill Police And Oregon Governor

Law enforcement and state officials continue to receive death threats from people angered over the shooting of Malheur National Wildlife Refuge occupier Robert “LaVoy” Finicum.

“Kill cops because they are cops, if for no other reason,” one man believed to be from Oregon wrote on social media. “Just walk up asking for directions and shoot them in the [expletive] face.”

Judge Keeps Cliven Bundy in Jail, Citing a History of Resistance

A federal judge on Thursday refused to release Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy, saying his history of ignoring court orders makes it unlikely he would return to court.

Bundy, 69, is accused of leading a 2014 armed standoff with federal agents who seized his cattle after two decades of illegally grazing them on public land and refusing to pay grazing fees.
